Williamson County Appraisal District 2022 Houses Property Tax Protest Summary
In 2022, the Williamson Central Appraisal District (CAD) received property tax protests from the proprietors of $33 billion in residences, out of a total of $99 billion. Williamson CAD noticed value was the basis for protesting 34% of the properties. The likelihood of protest is significantly higher among owners of more expensive homes than among owners of typical homes. Owners of 67% of commercial, 6% of multifamily, and 64% of utilities appealed on the basis of value. This substantial number of utility, commercial, and multifamily owners consistently submit appeals annually due to its effectiveness.
Do You Know the Secret?
Owners who protest their property taxes save 67–61% of the time. Most years, the appraisal district publishes a new figure that remains unchanged unless you contest it. You can effectively contest it independently, and you will be successful if you do so. In my 39 years of experience, I have observed that a small number of owners will appeal on their own each year. If you are unable to protest independently, allow a property tax expert from O'Connor to assist you.
