Fort Bend County Appraisal District 2022 Houses Property Tax Protest Summary

In 2022, the Fort Bend Central Appraisal District (CAD) received property tax protests from homeowners of $33 billion of the $96 billion in total. According to the notice valuation of Fort Bend CAD, 35% of the properties were protested. Compared to owners of ordinary houses, owners of more costly homes are more inclined to protest. Protests are much more common among owners of utilities, commercial space, and apartments. Based on valuation, the owners of 33% of commercial, 69% of multifamily, and 82% of utilities filed appeals. Due of its effectiveness, a sizable percentage of utility, business, and multifamily owners continuously file an appeal each year.

Why Do Property Owners Appeal?

About 70 to 80% of the time, owners who file an annual appeal for their property taxes save money. Every year, the appraisal district releases a fresh figure that unless you appeal won't change. Although it is possible to successfully appeal on your own, each year very few owners actually do so. Let O'Connor handle your property taxes. Don't miss another deadline for filing a property tax protest by enrolling in the Property Tax Protection Program™ now. Never make a payment until your property taxes are lowered that year.
