Collin County Appraisal District 2022 Houses Property Tax Protest Summary
In 2022, the Collin Central Appraisal District (CAD) received property tax protests from owners of $40 billion of the $145 billion in total. 28% of houses were protested based on Collin CAD noticed value. Because of the amount of tax savings, owners of more costly properties are more likely to protest than owners of ordinary homes. Protests are much more common among owners of utilities, commercial space, and apartments. Based on value, the owners of 77% of commercial, 64% of multifamily, and 59% of utilities filed appeals in 2022. Due to its effectiveness, a sizable percentage of utility, business, and multifamily owners continuously file an appeal each year.
About 50–60% of the time, owners who file an annual appeal for their property taxes save money on property taxes. Every year, the appraisal district releases a new figure that remains unaltered unless you decide to protest. You can effectively fight it on your own, and there is a high chance of succeeding. However, in my 39 years of experience, I have found that few owners will file an annual appeal on their own; therefore, let us handle it for you. You never have to pay anything until we lower your property taxes; there are no up-front expenses or fixed fees.
