UvaldeCAD 2018 Property Tax Protests
Uvalde County Appraisal District received property tax appeals for a total of 1,170 real property and BPP accounts in 2018 versus 1.710 in 2017. The portion of Uvalde County accounts protested increased from 7.58% to 4.82% in 2016 to 2018. The 2018 property tax protest count was for 900 commercial/industrial / other properties and 265 for houses (9% commercial vs 2.65% houses). The total value of Uvalde County property protested in 2018 was $530,000,000, including $39,500,000 for houses and $493,900,000 for commercial / other. The total value of property appealed in Uvalde County in the last two years fell by 10.1% versus 30.2% statewide. Uvalde County Appraisal Review Board (ARB) conducted 2,120 ARB hearings while Uvalde County Appraisal District coordinated 0 hearings. Uvalde County protests settled informally rose/fell from 1,010 in 2016 to 2,120 in 2018.
