Since 1983, Pat O'Connor has been active in appraisal of commercial real estate property, property tax reduction, client consultation and expert witness testimony. He publishes analyses and data regarding the Houston real estate market and is a highly regarded spokesperson for the Houston real estate community. Patrick O’Connor is a certified appraiser in the state of Texas and is also a recipient of the prestigious MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute.
Carl Thornton, Managing Director, Appraisal Services
Carl Thornton oversees operations for all appraisal related services, including the technical implementation of our growth in cost segregation as a tool for federal tax reduction. He is a Texas State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser with additional certifications in 25 states. He provides the technical compliance review of cost segregation reports, while managing all support functions for timely production. Carl has been with O'Connor & Associates since 1999. He is a graduate of Wayland Baptist University.

W.F. “Buddy” Trotter, Jr., MAI, Senior Appraisal Reviewer
Buddy Trotter is a Texas State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser with additional certifications in 10 states. He has extensive experience appraising properties in each major land use, including retail, office, industrial, and apartments. As a member of the department’s leadership team, Buddy is an appraiser trainer and educator at O’Connor & Associates. He also sponsors and directs full-time licensed trainees and is the lead technical reviewer for appraisals of certified appraisers. He has 21 years real estate and appraisal experience and has been with O'Connor & Associates since 1993. He is a graduate of Rice University and is recipient of the prestigious MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute.
Ross P. Welshimer, Appraisal Reviewer
Ross P. Welshimer is a Texas State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser with additional certifications in five states. Ross has 20 years real estate and appraisal experience and has been with O'Connor and Associates since 1990. He has extensive experience appraising properties in each major land use (apartment, office, retail, and industrial). Ross is an appraiser trainer, sponsoring and directing full-time licensed trainees, along with performing technical reviews for accuracy. He is a graduate of Illinois State University and is a General Associate Member of the Appraisal Institute since 1992.
John Fisher, CCRA, LEED AP - Commercial Review Appraiser
John Fisher is a Texas State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser with additional certification in four states. He has extensive appraisal experience in each major land use. John has 20 years of real estate experience and has served as an expert witness in both federal and district court. John is a graduate of the University of Houston with a major in finance, is a General Associate Member of the Appraisal Institute, a Certified Commercial Real Estate Appraiser (CCRA) through the National Association of Real Estate Appraisers and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP). As a member of the department’s leadership team, John is an appraiser trainer, sponsoring and directing full-time licensed trainees, along with performing technical reviews for accuracy. Additionally, as a LEED AP, Mr. Fisher acts as a Green Consultant for O’Connor & Associates clients. Mr. Fisher has been involved in the first new construction apartment complex in Houston that hopes to achieve a Silver LEED certification.
